Named in 2007 as one of "The All-Time Top 150 i-Technology Heroes" for helping found the agile software development movement, Dr. Cockburn won the Jolt-Productivity award in 2001 for his landmark book Writing Effective Use Cases, another Jolt-Productivity award in 2002 for Agile Software Development, and the top Jolt award in 2006 for its second edition, Agile Software Development: The Cooperative Game.

Alistair is an internationally recognized expert on many aspects of software development and project management, and applauded as an effective facilitator at the highest levels. He has worked in the industry, academia and government, design hardware, software and team processes since 1974. Alistair has also authored Surviving Object Oriented Projects and People and Methodologies in Software Development .

Tom is an expert at facilitating requirements and use case workshops for software development projects.As an independent consultant, he works with project teams to help them explore requirements, define their project scope and shape their development process.

Tom is a pioneer in using the High Quality Customer and User Requirements approach that ensures a project’s requirements tie back to a set of unambiguous business objectives.Based on his client’s needs,Tom tailors his approach to fit the particular situation – this may include using other modern software analysis and design techniques such as Business Process Modeling, Use Case Modeling and Logical Data Modeling.

Gary is an agile process consultant, instructor, course developer and object evangelist, based in Columbia, SC. He speaks on diverse object technology topics at national technical conferences. He is a recognized expert in use case development, object modeling, IBM/Rational Unified Process®, agile software processes, and in applying object-oriented practices to non-object oriented languages such as COBOL. He is actively engaged in the Agile Software Development community, and he has published over a dozen articles for various technical magazines, including The Rational Edge. .

  Pete McBreen  
     
   

Pete enjoys writing and delivering software. He is the author of Software Craftsmanship and Questioning Extreme Programming and has developed several courses in OO techniques, the UML and Java. Pete has a wide ranging software development background ranging from RTL/2 and COBOL through to C++, Java and Ruby. With experience developing and delivering software since 1985, Pete specializes in finding creative solutions to the perennial problems that software developers face. After many years of working on formal and informal process improvement initiatives, he took a sideways look at the problem and realized, "Software development is meant to be fun. If it isn't, the process is wrong."

Pete is based in Calgary and covers Canada for Cockburn & Associates.

  Andy Pols Andy Pols  
     
   

Andy is a software requirements and agile delivery expert. He helps clients focus on what's important - understanding the business value of what they do. Ultimately, he helps teams cut through the haze and deliver quality products. He has been working with use cases since the mid-1990s, co-created the book Patterns for Effective Use Cases, is a regular speaker at conferences, a founder member of the "Highgate Guild" and a regular at London's infamous Extreme Tuesday Club! Andy is an experienced agile software developer, who enjoys applying common sense, experience and agile ideas to process tuning, requirements development and software design.
